Following Archery GB's guidance, the club committee has taken the decision to re-open the range at Colquite from Monday 18th May. Members - please check your email for communication from the committee regarding the rules and procedures. If you have not received an email, please contact Elaine or Rob.
Welcome to the Bowmen of Wadebridge website. We are a small but friendly target archery club based just outside Wadebridge, North Cornwall. Shooting a variety of Recurve, Compound, Longbow and Barebow (sorry, no crossbows!) we welcome guest archers and beginners alike to join us on our picturesque outdoor range throughout the year or indoors through the winter months.

A beautiful but very windy morning at Colquite, well done to Rob for equalling his new national pb and well done to Elaine and Richard for shooting first class scores at the Olympic distance of 70m

It is with regret that we have taken the decision to cancel our tournaments for this year. As you may be aware, we had planned to hold a UK Record Status Double WA70m on Saturday 4th July as well as our usual Mixed Herefords tournament on Sunday 5th, however the restrictions that we have had to put in place to maintain social distancing mean that this is no longer possible. The Club Committee has met this evening (virtually) to discuss the Archery GB guidelines. A full email will be sent out tomorrow with rules and decisions as to how we manage the range re-opening, but in short we are aiming to have the range open again by Monday PM.

Please do not go to the range before Monday and only then once you have read and agreed to the email which I will send out tomorrow.

Thanks,
Rob.

This is fantastic news for us and the sport in general, but it is by no means a green light to go straight back out to the field today and continue as normal. There is a lot to be done to make sure our members are kept safe while shooting and I have called a committee meeting to discuss this and get the ball rolling on getting us back shooting asap.

Please DO NOT go to the range until you have received official communication from either myself or Elaine Jones that shooting may recommence. There will be rules in place that need to be followed for everyone's safety and at the moment, we don't even know if the Estate will want us up there yet.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Rob
